Our independent, neighbourhood restaurant has a vacancy for Front of House Manager. We are a busy and popular eatery serving fresh, local and seasonal dishes as well as wood-fired pizzas, great drinks and cocktails.

This is full time role which will involve evening and weekend work. You will be working shifts on 5 days from 7.

The right applicant will have at least three years of relevant experience and be enthusiastic, hard-working and full of great ideas. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.

You'll be focussed, passionate and organised with a strong determination to drive the business forward and take our restaurant and your career to the next level.

You must have the skills to enable you to:

  • Ensure the smooth running of all day-to-day front of house operations.
  • Ensure every guest gets the best experience they can and leaves us as a fan
  • Be on the floor during service, anticipating pressure points before they arise
  • Work hard to reduce costs and maximise sales within daily operations
  • Manage reservations
  • Manage weekly team rotas
  • Manage team budget and work to increase gross profit
  • Recruit, train, develop and motivate all Front of House staff throughout their employment
  • Manage HR responsibly
  • Complete FOH ordering efficiently and with an eye on cost and value

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef at our busy, independent neighbourhood restaurant.

The Court House is a vibrant, neighbourhood restaurant serving fresh, seasonal dishes and wood-fired pizza. We are open daily from 9am - 11pm, with last food orders at 9pm. This role gives you the chance to work with a great team, helping to deliver a fantastic experience to all our guests.

Your duties:

  • working alongside our Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities
  • overseeing staff
  • expediting service
  • aiding with menu preparation
  • ensuring food quality and freshness
  • monitoring ordering and stocking produce
  • providing a high level of quality and consistency
  • leading the kitchen team in chef's absence
  • providing guidance and training to junior kitchen staff members
  • ensuring prep is completed for following day service
  • monitoring stock rotation system to ensure quality assurance
  • training new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
  • keeping detailed records to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
  • supervising all food preparation and presentation to ensure standards are met
  • assisting Head Chef with menu creation
  • co-ordinating with front of house team to ensure the best customer experience

Your skills:

  • at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • extensive ingredient knowledge
  • strong organisational skills
  • attention to detail
  • good leadership skills
  • ability to work under pressure
